Racines Magazine - No. 28: KEMET. When Africa ruled the world...
brand : Library
Why do the kings of the earth rise up and the princes join forces with them against God and against his anointed?” asks the Psalmist.
In other words, why must those who run society always fight against the truth and against those who serve it? Certainly to better establish their domination over the bodies and minds of the people they were supposed to enlighten.
As we write this 28th issue of the newspaper Racines, certain educators of the people have entertained the project of shaving the heads of all the Negro children who attend the schools of the Republic in Guadeloupe.
It seems like long hair only suits white people and Indians!
Perhaps also this trend contributes to the process of de-Africanization in force in our islands since the times of slavery to the present day?
But it is not only the frizzy and rebellious hair of young people that we want to trim, but their minds and their souls. It is with this in mind that Western Egyptology has endeavored to strip Africa of Pharaonic Egypt and to make the ancient Egyptians foreigners to the Black World. It was not necessary for us to have such a strong cultural reference at a time when people were trying to impose on us, by all possible means, the executable myth of the barbaric Negro.
And even today, "Dalila" trims the hair of "Samson" by opposing any company or association whose aim is to correctly inform the people and reconcile them with their roots.
This is how certain "responsibles" of cultural authorities in our region have decided to put a stop to Africa Month by reducing its funding as much as possible, aware that they are of the incredible energy that this biennial arouses in our dear Guadeloupe.
But the fight continues... See you at Africa Month 2012 and in the meantime, carefully enjoy this issue of your newspaper dedicated to Pharaonic Egypt: the African star that shone in the firmament of nations.
